We in our day to day life observe the surrounding, object nearby us and correlate all those things with some scientific observations like gravity, machanics, Thermdynamics and many many other laws ,One of them is 'Heat transfer' .
Heat trransfer is the process in which energy transfer takes place from one material body to another as a result of temperature difference between them.The science of heat transfer seeks not merely to explain how heat energy may transferd, but also to predict the rate at which the wxchange will take place under certain speciied condition.
Even the thermodynamics only deals with energy at equilibrium , but the only diffenrence between heat transfer and thermodynamics is the rate at which tranfer of energy takes palce.
Let us take an example a hot metal rod which is placed in water , in this two predictions can be made on the basis of thermodynamics and heat transfer . first with the help of thermodynamics we can able to calculate the final temperature of rod , water or rod water as system .secondly with the help of heat transfer we can also able tocalculate heat transfer rate i.e. enregy transfer taking place per unit time.
